  <title><![CDATA[Heat waves over the ocean have ballooned and are wreaking havoc on marine life]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Heat waves over the world&rsquo;s oceans are becoming longer and more frequent, damaging coral reefs and creating chaos for aquatic species. <a href="http://s1.eas.gatech.edu/people/cobb-dr-kim">Kim Cobb</a>, of the <a href="http://eas.gatech.edu/">School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences</a>, says that most of the effects of these heat waves are &quot;invisible&quot; to humans. The real damage will be to marine life. Cobb continues, &quot;These heat waves will only get worse, with untold impacts on ocean resources that we all depend on for food, recreation, and other ecosystem services.&quot;</p>
