{"605998":{"#nid":"605998","#data":{"type":"news","title":"New Endpoint Management and Protection Tools Offer Added IT Value to Campus","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EEndpoint Management and Protection Service provides network security to all endpoint devices issued by Georgia Tech including desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. Georgia Tech is currently rolling out a new Endpoint Management and Protection Service, which provides a standard set of tools to enable IT professionals to more effectively support faculty and staff with their endpoint devices. These tools add a layer of security to devices connecting to a network that otherwise would make them vulnerable to cyberattacks.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOne of the early initiatives of the project included a comprehensive audit of all existing endpoint management and protection software used by various departments across the Institute. The team recognized the need to consolidate and standardize endpoint management and protection solutions to significantly reduce costs, as well as the burden on the broader IT community, to maintain endpoint management software. Since this new standard set of endpoint management tools operates in the background, campus faculty and staff should not notice a difference in their Institute-issued devices.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAt Georgia Tech, the Endpoint Management and Protection Service effort is led by a steering committee of staff representing each the six colleges and campus units.
