A limited number of slots is available for presentations emphasizing the latest developments on transformation of renewable carbon building blocks to chemicals and materials, enabling the integrated biorefinery concept.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe conference will be held Nov. 5-8 at the King and Prince Beach \u0026amp; Golf Resort, St. Simons Island.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETopic areas include:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EEngineering Feedstocks and Biomass Architecture\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECell Wall Deconstruction and Biomass Fractionation\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EBio-Privileged Chemicals\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EPolymers and Soft Materials\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECatalytic Conversion of Lignin and Carbohydrates\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EBiocatalytic Conversion\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThermochemical Conversion\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EComputational Biomass Chemistry and Physics\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFrontiers in Biorefining focuses on the science underlying production of new bioproducts that will advance the concept of the biorefinery. Attendance will be limited to facilitate open discussion of the latest topics in development of products from biorefinery process streams. Further information can be obtained by contacting any of the members of the organizing committee.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cem\u003EGraduate Student Opportunities:\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E Funding has been provided by the Sun Grant Initiative to defer graduate student travel expenses. The conference includes a poster competition for graduate students. Students are also encouraged to apply to present an overview of their research in a 5 minutes flash talk.
