Since 1984, Morrison has served in various leadership roles at Shepherd Center, including Vice President of Clinical Services, Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Program, Director of the Medical\/Surgical and ICU programs, Manager of the Spinal Cord Injury Day Program, a Physical Therapy Supervisor and a Physical Therapist.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMorrison is well known in the healthcare community, having written more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, presented lectures to professional organizations both nationally and internationally and has also actively participated in eight funded research studies. In 2013, Morrison received the award for Clinical Excellence in Neurology from the Neurological Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Morrison\u0026rsquo;s career includes leadership roles as a surveyor of external rehabilitation hospitals for the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and chair of the APTA Special Interest Group for Spinal Cord Injury.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMorrison earned her bachelor\u0026rsquo;s degree in physical therapy from the University of Miami, where she graduated summa cum laude. She received master\u0026rsquo;s degrees in Healthcare and Business Administration from Georgia State University, where she received the Max G. Holland scholarship for the highest-grade point average in the graduate business program.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMorrison lives in Atlanta with her husband, Jeff, a visiting instructor at Emory University. Their son, Michael, lives in Nashville, Tennessee, and works for Cigna Healthcare. Their daughter, Susan, lives in Atlanta and works for ShareCare, Inc.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EAbout the Impact Speaker Series:\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESince 2002, the Impact\u0026nbsp;Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from \u0026quot;building a venture around intellectual capital\u0026quot; to \u0026quot;successful entrepreneurship in large organizations\u0026quot; and \u0026quot;socially responsible leadership.\u0026quot; The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders.
