  <title><![CDATA[Gain Control over your Financial Future with New & Free Online Program ]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Financial well-being can often be forgotten about when considering our overall well-being. However, the stressors associated with finances can affect more than just your credit score. In fact, this stress has been connected to migraines, ulcers and sleep disorders. According to the <a href="http://www.apa.org/news/press/releases/stress/2017/state-nation.pdf">American Psychological Association</a>, about 6 in 10 Americans report being stressed about money &mdash; and that stress could put them at a higher risk for overall lower-quality health.</p>

<p>Health Initiatives is proud to be able to provide all students free access to Transit Financial Wellness.&nbsp;Transit is an online course designed to provide college students with the skills to understand their finances and successfully transition in and out of the college experience. This course is a highly personalized, self-paced, interactive experience where users learn key financial decision-making skills and apply their learning in real-life scenarios. The course focuses on three main topics: school expenses, personal expenses, and career/post-graduation decisions. Health Initiatives Health Educator Sarah Morales is excited with how this course will help students, &ldquo;this course can help alleviate some of the stressors associated with finances.&rdquo; She continued, &ldquo;we understand that money will always be a stressful area for some, but we want to do everything we can do to help set Georgia Tech students up for success.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Your physical and mental health can directly benefit from having strong financial well-being. This course uses real-life scenarios affecting college age students and provides the tools to reach plausible solutions.</p>

<p>&nbsp;The key information in this training includes:</p>

<ul>
	<li>Understanding and managing financial aid</li>
	<li>Comprehending spending, banking, and credit decisions</li>
	<li>Managing school expenses and avoiding unnecessary debt</li>
	<li>Setting long-term savings goals</li>
	<li>Understanding credit scores, mortgages, and investing</li>
	<li>Managing a budget and differentiating &ldquo;needs&rdquo; from &ldquo;wants&rdquo;</li>
	<li>Student loan repayment options and responsibilities</li>
</ul>
