{"610731":{"#nid":"610731","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Fourth Woman Driver Behind the Wheel of Georgia Tech\u2019s Ramblin\u2019 Wreck","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EFourth Woman Driver Behind the Wheel of Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s Ramblin\u0026rsquo; Wreck\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EHannah Todd will lead the football team onto the field for the 2018 kickoff\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAt this time last year, Hannah Todd didn\u0026rsquo;t know how to drive a stick shift.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ENow she\u0026rsquo;s behind the wheel of one of America\u0026rsquo;s most iconic cars.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETodd, a business major from Peachtree City, Georgia, spent hours upon hours this summer learning the intricacies of driving a 1930 Model A Ford Sport Coupe. Former drivers helped Todd train up.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I would take her out at 10 o\u0026rsquo;clock at night when no one else was around,\u0026quot; Todd explains of learning to drive the Wreck.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHer fellow Reck Club members voted her to be the fourth female to take the keys as driver, and she put in the work to earn her spot.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EShe\u0026rsquo;s coordinated and planned the Homecoming Wreck Parade, handpainted the banners that the Wreck drives through on gameday, and oversaw time-honored traditions like the Mini 500 and the Cake Race.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I saw how all of our traditions bring so much joy to people at Georgia Tech,\u0026rdquo; Todd says.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDuring her free time in her fifth and final year at Georgia Tech, you can often find Todd driving around offering rides to students across campus.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I just love being able to give students an experience they may remember the rest of their life,\u0026rdquo; she says with a smile.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAs for her first drive out onto Grant Field, Todd admits she has a few butterflies.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I\u0026rsquo;m a little nervous, but I think mostly I\u0026rsquo;m excited to crash through that banner and see thousands and thousands of Tech fans cheering on the Yellow Jackets.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EShe also recognizes the historic moment she\u0026rsquo;s getting to take part in.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;We\u0026rsquo;ve been leading out the team since 1961, and it\u0026rsquo;s unlike anything else any college in the country does.
