The contest aims to foster innovation, entrepreneurship and start-up creation.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EPartners in the Georgia Chamber initiative include: the University System of Georgia, the Technical College System of Georgia, private colleges and Georgia Tech.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe concept is modeled after\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/inventureprize.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s InVenture Prize\u003C\/a\u003E, which started in 2009 to leverage the maker culture on campus and encourage students to push their ideas even further. Over the years, Tech students invented a\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.news.gatech.edu\/2018\/02\/07\/firehud-receives-nsf-small-business-grant\u0022\u003Esystem to protect first responders\u003C\/a\u003E, a\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.news.gatech.edu\/2018\/03\/06\/setting-sights-competitive-archery\u0022\u003Efirst-of-its-kind aiming device for competitive archery\u003C\/a\u003E, a visual, color-based, rapid and disposable test for anemia and\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.news.gatech.edu\/features\/celebrating-10-years-inventure-prize\u0022\u003Emuch more\u003C\/a\u003E.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Georgia Chamber said the new contest further establishes the state as a leader for entrepreneurship and small business success. The initiative will strengthen Georgia\u0026rsquo;s pipeline of inventors and startup companies.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;As the largest statewide business advocate, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce understands the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation, as it is a longstanding Chamber position to support the implementation of policies that promote commercialization, research activity and collaboration among the private and public sectors,\u0026rdquo; said Chris Clark, Georgia Chamber president and CEO. \u0026ldquo;We encourage participation and look forward to working with our Georgia InVenture Prize partners in our continued efforts to develop local talent and increase access to venture capital.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s own InVenture Prize continues to\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/inventureprize.gatech.edu\/about\/prizes\u0022\u003Ereward\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;students for innovations that aim to solve the world\u0026rsquo;s big problems. The 2019 competition kickoff will take place Sept. 12.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIt also inspired a similar annual innovation competition among the colleges in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
