  <title><![CDATA[Meet and Greet at MODA: School of Industrial Design Chair Jim Budd]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>As part of Atlanta Design Week 2010, IDSA Atlanta and MODA are teaming 
up with Georgia Tech for a meet and greet with interactive design expert
 Jim Budd, Georgia Tech School of Industrial Design Chair, and Wayne Li,
 Oliver Professor of Practice in Design and Engineering. One of the oldest programs in the United States, the Georgia Tech School
 of Industrial Design is an active leader in Atlanta’s vibrant design 
community. Join us to learn how the school is setting a new course for 
human-centered design within the context of one the nation’s premiere

7:30 pm – program concludes<br /><br /></p><p><strong>About Jim Budd</strong></p><p>Jim Budd brings 15 years of academic and research leadership in human-centered, interactive product design, as well as two decades of corporate design experience to the school. Most recently, he was associate professor of industrial and interaction design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where he headed the Wearables and Interactive Products Lab. <a href="http://www.id.gatech.edu/node/4250" target="_self">Read more about Jim Budd.</a></p><p><strong>About Wayne Li</strong></p><p>Dually appointed to the Colleges of Architecture and Engineering, Li is tasked with advancing interdisciplinary design at Georgia Tech, leading joint teaching initiatives in mechanical engineering and industrial design. His twelve-year career spans brand management, product design and mechanical engineering in transportation and home décor sectors, as well as design education at Stanford University.
