Growing up in a household with two Pharmacists; I knew I wanted to stay in healthcare but I wanted to do something slightly different. I am that person that jumps out of the car to help when I see an accident.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EHave you always worked with \u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003Ecollege-age\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E students?\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EI started at a teaching hospital and was the flu clinic nurse at Johns Hopkins University for students and staff. Most of my career I worked in a hospital, where we treated all ages.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat do you love most about your job?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EI love reviewing a system that is in place and finding a new approach to improve workflow. It is not always popular initially, especially for those who do not like change; but I love the final outcome when it works and everyone finds the change beneficial.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ECan you give me a brief overview of what it is you will be doing in your new position as nurse manager?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EA few of my duties will include hiring new staff and ensuring job performance and customer satisfaction is maintained. To work with other departments on campus to provide health services that are accessible for the student body ie: flu clinics. I also meet with staff for training, to implement new policies, review quality measures, etc. Daily, tasks include managing supplies, processing payroll and assisting patients in the clinic.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EHow do you feel your past positions have prepared you for this role?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EI am utilizing many skills that I have learned in the hospital and in previous management roles in this new position.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat motivated you to enter into medicine?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMy desire to want to help others.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat do you like to do when you are not at SHS?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EI really enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
