Dye-sensitized solar cells form a class of low-cost, thin-film based solar cells. Invented by Michael Graetzel and Brian O'Regan at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in 1991, these cells are generally referred to as Graetzel cells. Michael Graetzel was awarded the prestigious 2010 Millennium Technology Prize for the invention of this class of solar cells.

About the Lecture Series
The Georgia Tech-COPE Distinguished Lecture Series provides the Georgia Tech and Atlanta communities a unique opportunity to interact with world-renowned scientists from across the globe.
