Music Technology, Class of 2019\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHometown - Sirhind, Punjab, India\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhy did you choose to study music technology?\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe music technology program at Georgia Tech is an innovation-driven\u0026nbsp;master\u0026rsquo;s program that gives me tremendous opportunities to learn about state-of-the-art technology and\u0026nbsp;develop the tools needed to\u0026nbsp;build\u0026nbsp;robots that listen to and play music. I enjoy the\u0026nbsp;unparalleled\u0026nbsp;blend of music and robotics research.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhy did you choose to attend Tech?\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETech has a unique graduate program in music technology where I can integrate my musical interests with my background in robotics. Additionally, the\u0026nbsp;robotics ecosystem at Georgia Tech is one of the best, if not the best, in the world.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhat are your plans after graduation?\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EI hope to pursue a career in robotics and I am interested in domains ranging from robotic musicianship to medical and rehabilitation robotics. I am also interested in industrial applications of cutting-edge research in robotics. As a graduate research assistant, I have worked on amazing projects ranging from design and enhancement\u0026nbsp;of prosthetic and orthotic devices to imparting musical expressivity and dynamic range to robots.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhat has been your favorite memory at Tech?\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn the\u0026nbsp;13th annual music technology student concert,\u0026nbsp;Listening Machines 2018,\u0026nbsp;the robotic cowbell player stopped working (robots magically seem to stop working at the time of final demo). To fill time while my teammates were trying to get it up and running again,\u0026nbsp;I stepped in with my sitar and began playing. To my surprise, the random improvisation I started led to the whole department, including my adviser Gil Weinberg, joining in to play their instruments with me. We ended up playing even after the system started working again.
