{"613900":{"#nid":"613900","#data":{"type":"event","title":"College of Design Research Forum: Community Redevelopment in the Global South","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe second Research Forum in the series will focus on \u0026quot;Community Redevelopment in the Global South.\u0026quot;\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nCommunities in the Global South face unique challenges to managing growth, redevelopment, and economic restructuring.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nFaculty in the College of Design are working with residents of these communities to strengthen climate change resilience, design and build community centers, strengthen economic development, and house the urban poor.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nThis forum will focus on work being conducted in India, Africa, and Latin America (with a focus on Puerto Rico), presenting case examples of community-based interventions and exploring the unique opportunities and challenges of international work.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nForum participants are:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EMichael Elliott, Associate Professor, Schools of City and Regional Planning and of Public Policy\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EDaniel Baerlecken, Associate Professor, School of Architecture\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EAlberto Fuentes, Assistant Professor, Schools of City and Regional Planning and of International Affairs\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECatherine Ross, Professor, School of City and Regional Planning; Director, Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe College of Design Research forums are intended to allow the College community and our friends across the campus to experience the design- and technology-focused research at Georgia Tech.
