The expo was a showcase of the projects created by, and lessons learned from, its participants.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe second cohort of staff, students, and faculty \u0026mdash; Troy Batugal, Natashia Boland, Rachel Chen, Sheila Cranman, Rishabh Datta, Claudio Di Leo, Heather Dicks, Jennifer Glass, Skyler Henckell, Lacy Hodges, Avanti Joshi, Angela Keys, Preksha Kukreja, Minda Monteagudo, Rhea Perkins, Raneem Rizvi, Rockie Marie Rodr\u0026iacute;guez, Sahana Srivatsan, Maloreigh Todd, Emily Weigel, and Conan Zhao \u0026mdash; have spent the past year developing, planning, and executing their proposals, each designed to accelerate cultural transformation on campus.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFor the program\u0026rsquo;s sponsors, the goal is to create an environment where all people feel safe, comfortable, and empowered to discuss diversity and inclusion.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Diverse collaboration often sparks great innovation,\u0026rdquo; said Magnus Egerstedt, professor and Steve W. Chaddick School Chair in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and co-director of the Diversity and Inclusion Fellows Program. \u0026ldquo;When we conceived of this program, the hope was to change the\u0026nbsp;culture on campus by seeding a number of different projects. And it is really exciting to see this actually happening. I particularly appreciate the energy and passion that the Diversity and Inclusion Fellows bring to this program.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWith support from Institute Diversity, the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.diversity.gatech.edu\/DIFellowsProgram\/\u0022\u003EDiversity and Inclusion Fellows Program\u003C\/a\u003E was created in 2017 to bring together faculty, staff, and students who individually and collectively advance their action, research, or teaching objectives while improving inclusivity on campus.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E2018 Diversity Fellows\u0026rsquo; topics included conflict resolution skills training for graduate students in science, mentoring and support for African-American female students matriculating through Tech, a \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/diversity.gatech.edu\/2018-diversability-day\u0022\u003Esummit-style event \u003C\/a\u003Eto discuss issues related to the inclusion of people with disabilities at Tech, and a workshop specifically geared toward undergraduate-run makerspaces that expose students to best practices in developing a diverse and inclusive atmosphere.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;It is very exciting to witness the creative ways that our fellows are using their own experience and expertise to foster diversity and inclusivity at Georgia Tech,\u0026rdquo; said Beril Toktay, ADVANCE Professor in the Scheller College of Business, Brady Family Chair and faculty director of the Ray C.
