Getting to Know Georgia Tech: Siddhant Garg

With over 15,000 undergraduate students, six colleges, and more than 30 majors, the Georgia Tech community is a large and unique group.

Meet Siddhant Garg – B.S. Electrical Engineering, Class of 2019

Hometown – Long Island, New York

Why did you choose to study electrical engineering at Georgia Tech?

I have always been curious about how everything around us works. As an electrical engineer, I knew that I would have the opportunity to explore all sorts of technical areas and develop a foundation to allow me to continue learning outside of classes, too.

What is your favorite memory from your years at Tech?

During my first year, I got a season pass to the Georgia Aquarium with some friends that I had recently made. We spent most Saturday mornings walking to the aquarium and spending time learning as much as we could about the exhibits. To this day, I still remember the names of all four whale sharks.

What organizations have you been involved with on campus?

I am the president of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Ambassadors, which is an organization that tries to bridge the gap between ECE students and faculty. We have monthly luncheons where we invite students and professors to have a discussion in an environment outside of the classroom. We also conduct weekly tours for prospective students and their families. Our overall goal is to continue improving the ECE community at Georgia Tech.

What is something that others may not know about you?

Before I started college, I played the violin and practiced martial arts for about 10 years.
