Industrial Engineering, Class of 2020\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHometown \u0026ndash; San Francisco, California\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhy did you choose to attend Georgia Tech?\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhen I came to visit, I was so impressed by the opportunities available for students. There were so many ways to get involved, and I immediately felt like I was surrounded by determined and hardworking individuals. At other schools, I saw that they offered a career fair just for the engineering school, but at Georgia Tech, I was astounded that even my major had its own career fair. Plus, after high school and growing up in the same town for 18 years, I wanted to experience a different environment in a place that I\u0026rsquo;d never been before. I knew that Georgia Tech would force me out of my comfort zone and allow me to grow more than just my education.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhat is your favorite memory at Tech?\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMy favorite memories were made during my study abroad experiences over the past two summers, at the University of Oxford in England and Georgia Tech-Lorraine in Metz, France. Across these two summers, I was able to learn so many real-world and \u0026ldquo;adulting\u0026rdquo; skills that you could never learn in a classroom. I learned how to navigate public transportation in countries where I didn\u0026rsquo;t speak the language. I learned how to handle difficult situations, like the time I was stranded in Paris after my trains were canceled. I also learned how to manage my time while working as a resident advisor, taking four classes, planning weekend trips, and being completely independent.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhat do you like to do outside of classes?\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EI love to do yoga and go running. I recently started taking classes at a yoga studio in Midtown and I love it. I was also able to train and complete my first half marathon last semester.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EWhat are your plans after graduation?\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EI\u0026rsquo;m still deciding what I want to do after college, but I\u0026rsquo;m interested in supply chain, data analytics, and maybe consulting. I ultimately want to use my degree to do good in my community, whether it be to create new sustainability initiatives or work at a nonprofit organization.
