The course was developed to encourage students to think about how they might design technologies with a focus on global development, paying special attention to the needs of underserved, under-resourced, and under-represented communities across the world.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAlong with receiving this award, Kumar\u0026rsquo;s students Braxton Madison, Konrad Wang, Sandeep Bethapudi and Jesse Wu won first prize in the SLS poster showcase (across SLS courses campus-wide). Their project was called \u0026ldquo;Zwaste\u0026rdquo; (or Zero Waste), thoughtfully targeting five UN Sustainable Development Goals. They nicknamed it an \u0026ldquo;Uber for Donations\u0026rdquo;.
