  <title><![CDATA[Register Now for Foundations of Finance Course with Health Initiatives]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Do you want a better handle on your finances but unsure where to start? Health Initiatives (HI) is introducing a personal finance course that might be the perfect fit for you!</p>

<p>Foundations of Finance is a five-week course that empowers both undergraduate and graduate students to save, budget, avoid debt, invest, and spend wisely. Students will learn the skills to start practicing sound financial habits now that will set them up for success in the future. The course will integrate both classroom learning and the online <a href="https://healthinitiatives.gatech.edu/online-education/transit"><strong>transit-financial wellness course</strong>.</a></p>

<p>The transit-financial wellness course is a free, online course designed to provide college students with the skills to understand their finances and successfully transition in and out of the college experience. With a highly personalized, self-paced, interactive experience, users gain key financial decision-making skills and apply their learning to real-life scenarios. Students will learn important skills such as how to better understand and manage financial aid, comprehend spending and investing decisions, navigate school expenses to avoid unnecessary debt, and set savings goals and budgets.</p>

<p>Chock-full of important life skills, these courses will give you a more thorough understanding of your current personal and school-related finances as well as help with future decisions. Working to become financially literate and learning to properly plan for your expenses, you will be giving yourself a financial head start for your future.</p>

<p>The Foundations of Finance class takes place on Mondays from 5:00- 6:00 pm in Instructional Center room 109. The first series runs February 4- February 25th, and the second takes place March 25- April 15th.
