Costello,\u0026nbsp;William R.T. Oakes School Chair in the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering. \u0026quot;We are fortunate and\u0026nbsp;proud\u0026nbsp;to have such a great colleague.\u0026quot;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAhuja is a Regents Professor in the School of Aerospace Engineering, and a Regents Researcher at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, where he is revered for his work in aircraft noise, acoustics facilities design, flow control, state-of-the-art instrumentation, and advanced signal processing.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHe is a world-renowned expert\u0026nbsp;and author on a variety of subjects including acoustic shielding, fan noise, active flow control, flow\/acoustic interactions, jet noise, cavity noise, automobile noise, sonic boom research, psychoacoustics, high-temperature fiber optics strain gauges, acoustic transducers, active noise control, tilt rotor noise, source separation, acoustic fatigue, duct acoustics, computational aeroacoustics, innovative flow visualization techniques, and tornado signatures.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe National Academy said it was recognizing Koon \u0026ldquo;for contributions to the design of systems to treat chemically complex industrial wastewaters\u0026rdquo; in its Feb. 7 announcement.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;It is an incredible honor,\u0026rdquo; Koon said. \u0026ldquo;I\u0026rsquo;m delighted to be included in this remarkable group of engineers.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EKoon has built a career as one of the foremost experts in treating industrial wastewaters and helped develop some of the fundamental practices environmental engineers use today. Now he uses his 40 years of experience to shape a new generation of engineers as a\u0026nbsp;professor of the practice in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Dr. Koon brings a wealth of practical experience to the classroom based on his many distinguished years of professional practice.
