By 2020, Georgia Tech employees will have experienced changes to their typical work day.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\u003C\/div\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cdiv\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat is OneUSG?\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\u003C\/div\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cdiv\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOneUSG is\u0026nbsp;a systemwide initiative to develop and implement a consistent approach to policies, procedures,\u0026nbsp;and technology solutions\u0026nbsp;beneficial to\u0026nbsp;the University System of Georgia (USG)\u0026nbsp;and its employees.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\u003C\/div\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cdiv\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat does that mean?\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\u003C\/div\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cdiv\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFirst, remember Georgia Tech is one of 26 public, higher education institutions in Georgia. All 26 of these institutions are governed by the USG.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\u003C\/div\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cdiv\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EGoverning boards like\u0026nbsp;the USG\u0026nbsp;vary from state to state. In Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina each\u0026nbsp;public\u0026nbsp;institution has its own, independent\u0026nbsp;governing board. But in\u0026nbsp;states like\u0026nbsp;Georgia, California, and Louisiana,\u0026nbsp;all the public institutions are governed by one large system.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\u003C\/div\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cdiv\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EBefore OneUSG,\u0026nbsp;many\u0026nbsp;of Georgia\u0026rsquo;s public\u0026nbsp;institutions\u0026nbsp;operated\u0026nbsp;with\u0026nbsp;their\u0026nbsp;own set of vendors and systems.
