Minteer.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe book, entitled \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.springer.com\/us\/book\/9783319925967#aboutAuthors\u0022\u003E\u003Cem\u003EA Sustainable Philosophy - The Work of Bryan Norton\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E, gathers together a distinguished group of scholars and professionals from many fields, including environmental philosophy, natural resource management, environmental economics, law, and public policy, to engage Norton\u0026rsquo;s work and its legacy for society\u0026#39;s shared environmental future.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESarkar and Minteer\u0026nbsp;believe the festschrift\u0026nbsp;will be an invaluable resource for scholars and students in the fields of environmental philosophy, public policy and management, and environmental and sustainability studies.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;We want the book to be a celebration and deep analysis of Bryan\u0026rsquo;s work, as well as a critical engagement of it by those he\u0026rsquo;s influenced (i.e., fellow philosophers, but also historians, biologists, economists, legal scholars, and so on),\u0026rdquo; Minteer said. \u0026ldquo;But we also want the book to spur some forward-looking discussions about the practice and goals of environmental ethics and sustainability studies, especially as new generations enter the fray and look to carry many of these ideas forward.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ENorton received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Michigan in 1970, specializing in the philosophy of science and conceptual change in, and across, scientific disciplines. He writes on inter-generational equity, sustainability theory, bio-diversity policy and on valuation methods. His specialty is the integration of spatio-temporal scaling considerations into sustainability criteria.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHe is currently working to develop a flexible notion of sustainability that recognizes the challenges of a\u0026nbsp;rapidly changing climate.
