621568 news 1557431405 1557497746 <![CDATA[United Healthcare selected for Student Health Insurance Program]]> Through a competitive bid process, the University System of Georgia (USG) has selected United Healthcare for the Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP) for the 2019-20 academic year. This year, a Student Health Insurance Advisory Committee was formed which included student, faculty, and staff representatives. The committee met to make recommendations regarding the plan premiums and benefits this year and will continue to meet to make recommendations in future years to review.

The plan benefits under United Healthcare for the 2019-20 Academic Year will remain the same as under Student Blue for the 2018-19 Academic Year. The only changes to the plan include:

*Mandatory students are required to enroll by the Board of Regents and are charged on tuition by the Bursar’s office.
**Voluntary students are not subject to the Board of Regents insurance requirement, but may elect to enroll themselves or an eligible participant.

Semester rates and plan details are not yet available, but will be by June 1. Once available, rates, plan details, and enrollment and waiver details can be accessed at health.gatech.edu/finance/insurance.
