They are associate professors Karen Head, Olga Shemyakina, and Jennifer Singh.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;We are proud of the interest the program has generated among our faculty and are thankful for the support of the Colleges. I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the next cohort of Emerging Leaders at Georgia Tech,\u0026rdquo; said Rafael L. Bras, provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs who leads the initiative. \u0026ldquo;The program continues to identify talented individuals who are passionate about their leadership journey and in promoting a culture of leadership at Georgia Tech.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EStarting in fall 2019 and continuing through spring 2020, the three, together with 13 other participants from across campus will take part in leadership development workshops, a fall weekend activity, small-group work, self-assessments, and 360-degree assessments.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAssociate Professor \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.lmc.gatech.edu\/people\/person\/karen-j-head\u0022\u003EKaren Head\u003C\/a\u003E is also associate chair of the School of Literature, Media, and Communication and directs LMC\u0026rsquo;s Naugle Communication Center serving Georgia Tech faculty, students, and staff. Her research areas focus on writing and communication theory and pedagogical practice. She is an award winning teacher, has published five books, and serves as the editor of South\u003Cem\u003Eern Discourse in the Center: A Journal of Multiliteracy and Innovation\u003C\/em\u003E and the international poetry journal,\u0026nbsp;\u003Cem\u003EAtlanta Review\u003C\/em\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/econ.gatech.edu\/people\/person\/olga-shemyakina\u0022\u003EOlga Shemyakina\u003C\/a\u003E is associate professor in the School of Economics. Her research interests include applied microeconomics, development economics, labor economics, armed conflict, health, education, and gender. She has been a Senior Affiliate with the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.hicn.org\/\u0022\u003EHouseholds in Conflict Network (HiCN)\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;since 2007 and was appointed as an\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.iza.org\/en\/webcontent\/personnel\/photos\/index_html?key=7798\u0022\u003EIZA Research Fellow\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/a\u003Ein 2014. She has worked on three research consulting projects for the World Bank studying links between armed conflict, education and gender.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/hsoc.gatech.edu\/people\/person\/jennifer-singh\u0022\u003EJennifer Singh\u003C\/a\u003E is associate professor in the School of History and Sociology. She is a sociologist specializing in medical sociology and science and technology studies.
