However, with the longer days comes increased exposure to heat and ultraviolet (UV) rays. Get the most out of your workout by incorporating these tips in with your workout to stay healthy while also enjoying some Vitamin D.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ESeek shade\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe sun\u0026rsquo;s UV rays are most intense between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Try limiting your exposure during this time or exercise in the shade.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWear protective clothing and accessories\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWear light-weight long sleeves and pants, wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses that block 99-100% of UV rays.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EApply a broad-spectrum sunscreen\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAim to use sunscreen that is ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) protected. Make sure your sunscreen has a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 (blocks 97% of UVB rays) or more and is water resistant. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ECheck the UV Index\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ECheck the UV Index before stepping outside. The UV Index Scale ranges from 1 to 11+. \u0026nbsp;A higher number means a greater risk of exposure to UV rays and a higher chance of sunburn and skin damage that could ultimately lead to skin cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EStay hydrated\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhen the temperatures rise, getting enough to drink is important whether you\u0026rsquo;re playing sports, traveling or just sitting in the sun.
