  <title><![CDATA[Georgia Tech at Dragon Con 2017]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>More than 82,000 people are expected to visit downtown Atlanta this Labor Day weekend, September 1-4, for Dragon Con 2017. The event is the largest multi-media and pop culture convention focused on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, film, cosplay, and more. On Saturday morning the popular Dragon Con Parade will wind through downtown and feature thousands of spectators, and people dressed up as their favorite characters.<br />
<br />
As in years past, Georgia Tech faculty will take part in the weekend&rsquo;s activities as expert panelists. Georgia Tech&#39;s&nbsp;<a href="http://imtc.gatech.edu/" target="_blank">Interactive Media Technology Center (IMTC)</a>&nbsp;also organized two panels this year.<br />
<br />
&ldquo;We at Georgia Tech, along with our collaborator panelists from other universities and local industry, are excited to share and discuss the latest in scientific games research, technological gaming innovations, and the sociological implications of the future of gaming with the Dragon Con community,&rdquo; said Laura Levy, research scientist, Interactive Media Technology Center.<br />

The Video Gaming fan track includes panels on augmented and virtual reality, representation in gaming, accessibility, and esports. Here&rsquo;s a look at the schedule:<br />
