A temporary floor will be installed with the final flooring complete by the Spring of 2020. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe renovation will substantially affect the restroom configuration.\u0026nbsp; When the Howey Physics Building was originally constructed, plumbing codes and the Institute\u0026rsquo;s student demographics were radically different.\u0026nbsp; Currently the Lecture Hall wing has eight male restroom stalls to one female restroom stall.\u0026nbsp; This imbalance will be addressed by taking the old projection room for Lecture Hall 1 and turning it into a new men\u0026rsquo;s restroom.\u0026nbsp; The existing men\u0026#39;s restroom will be expanded to create a much larger women\u0026rsquo;s restroom, and a new gender-neutral restroom will be added.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EBecause the Howey Physics Building is a hub of learning activity, work will stop at the end of the summer to allow classes to occur in the lecture halls during the Fall 2019 Semester.\u0026nbsp; The Institute is focusing on making sure that courses scheduled in the building during this time are a good fit for capacity and accessibility.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe main initiative will commence in the Spring 2020 Semester. \u0026nbsp;Lecture Halls 3 and 4 will undergo a substantial renovation to update them to serve contemporary educational needs.
