In the spring, the fellows hosted a panel discussion titled\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.iac.gatech.edu\/news-events\/events\/2019\/2\/controversial-topics-contentious-times-teaching-humanities-social-sciences-georgia-tech\/616403\u0022\u003E\u0026ldquo;Controversial Topics in Contentious Times: Teaching the Humanities \u0026amp; Social Sciences at Georgia Tech.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;Moving forward, each fellow will develop a separate project to address the challenge. Associate Professor Narin Hassan in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication will explore strategies to create a more mindful, empathetic, and just environment in which to discuss social justice issues. Associate Professor Carla Gerona in the School of History and Sociology will write an essay that analyzes the pedagogies of digital history.
