The portion of the Eco-Commons currently under construction is directly west of \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/livingbuilding.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EThe Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design\u003C\/a\u003E and will complement the building\u0026rsquo;s regenerative principles. This particular swath of land consists of approximately 8 acres and includes a performance landscape and passive green space that will help enhance campus life.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAs development begins, the campus community will see the following changes:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThe east sidewalk along Hemphill Avenue between Ferst Drive and Eighth Street is now closed to pedestrian traffic.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThe former Georgia Tech Police Department headquarters (Beringause Building) will be demolished beginning Monday, Oct. 7.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThe W24 and W25 surface lots will also be removed.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThere will be temporary access from Dalney Parking Deck to State Street until a permanent path is installed in Summer 2020.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EAccess to and from Center Street South Apartments will be limited to the north and west entrances, with very limited access to the south and east entrances.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EHeavy construction truck traffic will be expected in this sector of campus.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFor more information on campus construction updates, visit: \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/facilities.gatech.edu\/construction-notices\u0022\u003Efacilities.gatech.edu\/construction-notices\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EConstruction on campus continues this fall with the development of the northwest section of the Eco-Commons.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n","format":"limited_html"}],"field_summary_sentence":[{"value":"Construction on campus continues this fall with the development of the northwest section of the Eco-Commons.
