You must make benefit elections in order to have coverage in 2020. You can begin to review 2020 options and plan changes by visiting \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/usg.edu\/hr\/benefits\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003Ehttps:\/\/usg.edu\/hr\/benefits\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThere are two significant changes to be aware of:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Col\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWorking Spouse Surcharge: \u003C\/strong\u003EThere will be a surcharge of \u003Cstrong\u003E$100 per month \u003C\/strong\u003Eapplied to spouses covered under the plan who work and receive an offer of coverage through their place of employment.\r\n\r\n\t\u003Col\u003E\r\n\t\t\u003Cli\u003EAs part of this change, the \u0026ldquo;Employee + Child\u0026rdquo; coverage tier is changing to \u0026ldquo;Employee + Children.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\t\u003Cli\u003EIn 2020, an employee covering two or more children without a spouse can enroll in the \u0026ldquo;Employee + Child(ren)\u0026rdquo; tier and pay less than they would today in the \u0026ldquo;Family\u0026rdquo; tier.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003C\/ol\u003E\r\n\t\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ETobacco Surcharge: \u003C\/strong\u003EA \u003Cstrong\u003E$100\/per month tobacco surcharge\u003C\/strong\u003E will be added to your monthly premium if you (and\/or any of your dependents) use tobacco products.\r\n\t\u003Col\u003E\r\n\t\t\u003Cli\u003EEmployees and dependents age 18 and older covered by a USG medical plan are required to certify tobacco use.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\t\u003Cli\u003EFree smoking cessation classes and support are offered by Georgia Tech, Anthem, and Kaiser.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\t\u003Cli\u003EOnce an employee or dependent is tobacco-free, a certification can be completed, and the surcharge will be removed the first of the following month.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003C\/ol\u003E\r\n\t\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ol\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAdditional information will be mailed to home addresses in the coming weeks.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe annual Benefits Fair will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETo view premium changes and full benefits guide you can visit: \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.usg.edu\/assets\/hr\/benefits_docs\/2020_USG_Comparison_Guide.10.2019.pdf\u0022\u003Ehttps:\/\/www.usg.edu\/assets\/hr\/benefits_docs\/2020_USG_Comparison_Guide.10.2019.pdf\u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":[{"value":"All benefits-eligible employees must take action for 2020"}],"field_summary":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe opportunity to make changes begins in just a few weeks with Open Enrollment running from Monday, October 28 through Friday, November 8.\u0026nbsp;It is important to know this is an \u003Cstrong\u003Eactive\u003C\/strong\u003E open enrollment which requires action.
