Offered by \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/diversity.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EInstitute Diversity, Equity and Inclusion\u003C\/a\u003E, the program kicked off its fourth cohort of 20 on October 11.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ELaunched in 2016 with support from the Office of the President, \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/diversity.gatech.edu\/leadingwomenattech\u0022\u003ELeading Women@Tech\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;was established to engage women leaders who are in director-level positions, and above, at the Institute.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe program accepted nominations for its current class earlier this spring.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Leading Women@Tech represents an investment of time and other resources by the Institute in us as leaders, and also as individuals,\u0026rdquo; said Director of Leadership Communications, and member of the fourth cohort, \u003Cstrong\u003EPatti Futrell\u003C\/strong\u003E, after the kick-off session. \u0026ldquo;I was so encouraged that women who had participated in the first three cohorts came back to join us for the launch of our class. We\u0026rsquo;re part of a network, and they\u0026rsquo;re cheering us on.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Over the course of the program, I want to shore up my leadership skills,\u0026quot;\u0026nbsp;added \u003Cstrong\u003EAnn Hoevel\u003C\/strong\u003E, director of communications for the College of Design. \u0026ldquo;I want to give the strongest example of leadership I can to the communicators in my College.\u0026quot;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cblockquote\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026quot;Leading Women@Tech represents an investment of time and other resources by the Institute in us as leaders, and also as individuals.\u0026quot;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\u003C\/blockquote\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ECo-led by \u003Cstrong\u003EJulie Ancis\u003C\/strong\u003E, associate vice president for Institute Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and \u003Cstrong\u003EPearl Alexander\u003C\/strong\u003E, executive director of its Staff Diversity, Inclusion, and Engagement unit, the program is designed to strengthen participants\u0026rsquo; leadership abilities, enhance personal and professional growth, and support their overall career development, in addition to facilitating connections among women as an inclusive community across the campus.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Leading\u0026nbsp;Women@Tech was years in the making,\u0026rdquo; said Ancis at the opening. \u0026ldquo;From the 2013 Climate Assessment Survey and additional listening sessions, we heard your expressed interest in more mentoring and networking opportunities for women here at Tech.
