  <title><![CDATA[Nominations Sought for Next Engineering Dean]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>The chair of the search committee to select Georgia Tech’s
next dean of the College of Engineering has announced an open call for
recommendations and nominations to lead the Institute’s largest academic unit.</p><p>In an email to the College’s faculty and staff, Regents’
Professor Mostafa El-Sayed, said that the committee met in mid-October with
Provost Rafael Bras to discuss the search and provide general direction and guidance. The
Institute has selected the search firm Heidrick &amp; Struggles to support this national search.</p><p>The <a href="http://www.provost.gatech.edu/engineering/committee.html">search committee</a> will now begin to
advertise the position nationally, and are seeking campus assistance in
identifying and nominating the best candidates.</p><p>El-Sayed said there are two ways to
nominate: either e-mail the candidate's name, affiliation, and other relevant
information to him at <a href="mailto:melsayed@gatech.edu">melsayed@gatech.edu</a>,
or send the information directly to the following address. All nominations are
