Joyce Nickelson and John C. Sutherland Undergraduate Research Award\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cem\u003EThis endowment gift of Jen Nickelson and John Sutherland is presented to a student studying physics and mathematics.\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EEisner, a physics major, conducts his research with \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/physics.gatech.edu\/user\/flavio-fenton\u0022\u003EProfessor Flavio Fenton\u003C\/a\u003E. A research study he co-authored, \u0026ldquo;Baseline Wandering Removal in Optical Mapping Measurements With PID Control in Phase Space,\u0026rdquo; was presented via poster session at the 2019 Computing in Cardiology conference in Singapore.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch3\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cstrong\u003ESteven Creech\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/h3\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EGeorgia Tech College of Sciences Undergraduate Research Award\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nCreech, a mathematics major, researches under the guidance of \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/people.math.gatech.edu\/~mbaker\/\u0022\u003EProfessor Matthew Baker\u003C\/a\u003E. He studies algebraic number theory and algebraic geometry. Creech is also an undergraduate teaching assistant and the president of \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/math.gatech.edu\/about-club-math\u0022\u003EClub Math\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch3\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cstrong\u003EAmitej Venapally\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/h3\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EGeorgia Tech College of Sciences Undergraduate Research Award\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nA double major in biochemistry and computer science, Venapally researches under the guidance of \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/chemistry.gatech.edu\/people\/williams\/loren\u0022\u003EProfessor Loren Williams\u003C\/a\u003E. An undergraduate teaching assistant, his research explores the origin of life, and how peptides stabilize RNA.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch3\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cstrong\u003ESara Brockmeier\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/h3\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EGeorgia Tech College of Sciences Undergraduate Research Award\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nBrockmeier, a psychology major who researches with \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/psychology.gatech.edu\/phillip-ackerman\u0022\u003EProfessor Philip Ackerman\u003C\/a\u003E, is conducting research that is helping to determine the reliability of aptitude tests used by the U.S. Navy.
