{"636412":{"#nid":"636412","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Professor Christine Ries Appointed to Bureau of Labor Statistics Data Users Advisory Committee","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe Bureau of Labor Statistics has selected Dr. Christine Ries to serve a three-year term as a member of their Data Users Advisory Committee (DUAC).\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe DUAC is a discretionary federal advisory committee established by the Secretary of Labor to present advice and make recommendations to the BLS on the points of view of data users from various sectors of the U.S. economy, including the labor, business, research, academic, and government communities. Prior to nomination, DUAC candidates are selected from the pool of nominated applicants who demonstrate their extensive knowledge and use of the data collected, analyzed, and disseminated by the BLS. Up to 20 members are appointed by BLS and approved by the Secretary.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Committee is subject to the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) and reports to the BLS Commissioner.
