Dr. Mandelbaum refers to this as \u0022Simple Models at the Service of Complex Realities.\u0022\u0026nbsp; \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe mathematical framework for his models is asymptotic queueing theory, where\nlimits are taken as the number of servers increases indefinitely, in ways that\nmaintain a sought-after (often delicate) balance between staffing level and\noffered-load.
