640129 event 1602529118 1602529137 <![CDATA[Invasive Plant Removal and Nature Walk at Proctor Creek and Grove Park]]> Trailblazers invites the Georgia Tech community to participate in the continued restoration efforts of this special and unique remnant old-growth forest.

We’ll focus on knocking out a small section of remaining Kudzu and cut English Ivy from trees in the streamside forest. We’ll show how to recognize high-value forest areas by the trees and plants we find and we’ll end with a short walk to a beautiful section of Proctor Creek or possibly walk thru the high forest near the ridgeline. 

We’ll walk approximately 1-1.5 miles on natural trails along with some off-trail locations. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, sturdy shoes, and work gloves are recommended. 
Please bring water, sunscreen, and an Epi-pen if you have any allergies.

Due to Covid-19 precautions, we are not currently re-using gloves, so please bring your own gloves, or we can provide a brand new, unused pair for $5 you can take home with you (and use next time).

We’ll supply tools such as clippers, loppers, small saws, and digging tools.
