The Symposium, which attracted a global audience spanning 21 different countries, brought together a diverse set of speakers and participants to focus on key issues in climate action.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;We\u0026rsquo;re in this together,\u0026rdquo; President Angel Cabrera (President, Georgia Tech), underscored during the event\u0026rsquo;s opening. \u0026ldquo;The biggest challenges that we face as a species affect us all\u0026hellip; the biggest issues are going to be global in nature\u0026rdquo;. An annual collaboration between the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/globalchange.gatech.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech Global Change Program\u003C\/a\u003E, the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/atlantaglobalstudies.gatech.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EAtlanta Global Studies Center\u003C\/a\u003E, the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/serve-learn-sustain.gatech.edu\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003ECenter for Serve-Learn-Sustain\u003C\/a\u003E, and 6 European consuls based in Atlanta (Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, and Switzerland) the Global Climate Action Symposium showcased this collaborative, international effort.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETopics included Ecosystems \u0026amp; Climate, Environmental \u0026amp; Climate Justice, and COVID-19 \u0026amp; Green Recovery. Each day featured a keynote from a renowned expert in their field, as well as a panel discussion between experts from diverse backgrounds. Student voices were also highlighted in a curated set of lightning talks: short videos from students about their ongoing projects, research, and insights relating to each day\u0026rsquo;s theme. Students from kindergarten through the collegiate level competed in a photography and art contest highlighting the intersection of visual arts and climate action.
