Recently, there has been an uptick in cases, reflecting what is happening across the country. While a majority of the cases on campus are student-related, employees have tested positive as well.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe coronavirus can affect anyone, which is why it is so important that we remain vigilant \u0026shy;about wearing face coverings, washing hands, testing weekly, and keeping an appropriate distance \u0026ndash; even when gathering in small and familiar groups. While we have focused on students \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/health.gatech.edu\/coronavirus\/returning-home-safely\u0022\u003Estaying safe as they return home\u003C\/a\u003E to complete the fall semester, much of this advice applies to employees who will also want to gather with friends and family for the holidays.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EA few helpful reminders before and during the break:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ETake advantage of the FREE asymptomatic surveillance testing before the break. \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/health.gatech.edu\/coronavirus\/testing\u0022\u003ETesting Locations and Hours\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ETraveling may increase the risk of getting and spreading Covid-19. If you are traveling for the break, do not travel if:\r\n\t\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\t\u003Cli\u003EYou are sick or experiencing a fever, cough, or shortness of breath.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\t\u003Cli\u003EYou test positive for Covid-19 within 10 days prior to travel.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\t\u003Cli\u003EYou have close contact with someone who has Covid-19.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\t\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EBefore traveling, familiarize yourself with the public health guidelines or mandates in the location(s) you\u0026rsquo;ll be visiting. In addition, Georgia Tech researchers have developed a tool that can help estimate the potential risk of exposure involved with a trip.
