Both performances begin at 8:00 p.m. and tickets are available at \u003Ca href=\u0022http;\/\/gtchamberchoir.com\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003Egtchamberchoir.com\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003ETech director of choral activities \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.music.gatech.edu\/people\/jerry-ulrich\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EJerry Ulrich\u003C\/a\u003E cited New York Times music critic Anthony Tommasini, who recently commended Bach\u2019s \u2018matchless combination of masterly musical engineering.\u2019 According to Ulrich, \u201cThe Chamber Choir is comprised primarily of more \u2018traditional\u2019 engineers, so we are eager to face the challenge of interpreting Bach\u2019s work in the most ambitious choral performances in the history of the Georgia Tech School of Music.\u201d\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u201cWe will be employing Baroque instruments, Austro-German Latin, in notoriously difficult church acoustics, with singers who are approximately the age of Bach\u2019s Thomaskirche choir,\u201d he explained.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003EUlrich will conduct Friday\u2019s performance with the New Trinity Baroque Orchestra of period instruments, the chorus and the professional soloists at St. John\u2019s United Methodist Church (550 Mt. Paran Road, NW, Atlanta). Saturday\u2019s performance will be conducted by New Trinity Baroque founder and music director Predrag Gosta, at St. Bartholomew\u2019s Episcopal Church (1790 Lavista Road NE, Atlanta).\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe concerts will be the Southeastern United States premiere of the newly published Breitkopf edition of the B Minor Mass, edited by preeminent Bach scholar Joshua Rifkin. Professional soloists will be soprano Wanda Yang Temko, male alto Terry Barber, tenor Adam Kirkpatrick, and bass Paul Max Tipton.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EThe Georgia Tech Chamber Choir is a select, auditioned mixed vocal ensemble, whose members are principally all-state-level singers who have extensive background in choral singing.
