Unintended Consequences of Industrial Ecology Policy in the Indian Electric Power Sector\u0026quot;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EGhodeswar explores the concept of industrial ecology, the practice of \u0026quot;utilizing industrial waste by-products as productive inputs,\u0026quot; in the context of coal-powered electrical plants in India, finding that reusing fly ash in the generation process can have injurious effects such as increased CO2 emissions.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EThird place ($750 prize):\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003EVikrant Kamble, School of Economics, \u0026quot;The effect of air pollution on labor force participation of married couples in India\u0026quot;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EKamble\u0026#39;s research delived into one\u0026nbsp;particular\u0026nbsp;externality of pollution: The effect of pollution-induced health complications on a worker\u0026#39;s spouse.
