The objectives of Omicron Delta Epsilon are recognition of scholastic attainment and the honoring of outstanding achievements in economics; the establishment of closer ties between students and faculty in economics within colleges and universities, and among colleges and universities; the publication of its official journal, The American Economist, and sponsoring of panels at professional meetings as well as the Irving Fisher and Frank W. Taussig competitions.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ECurrently, the Kappa of Georgia Chapter of the School of Economics at GA Tech has 150 members, and inducts 20-40 new members annually. To be invited, students of any major must have a 3.0 GPA, be a junior, senior, or master student, and completed 12 or more hours of economics course work.
