Nominations to faculty committees for the Spring 2021 elections are being solicited until Monday, March 1.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech faculty members are invited to participate in faculty governance by seeking election to the Faculty Standing Committees or the Faculty Executive Board. Nominations (including self-nominations) are now open and can be submitted through \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=u5ghSHuuJUuLem1_MvqggwG6MKMRvJVPq54Z9e3IKkJUOUNPSEgxVkZSN0xDWVlaS1g4WElJRFNYVC4u\u0022\u003Ethis online form\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;With release of the Institute\u0026rsquo;s new strategic plan, significant changes are expected over the next 10 years. Faculty governance is critical in steering Georgia Tech toward meeting its goals and maintaining its position as a leader in higher education,\u0026rdquo; said Cameron Tyson, chair of the Nominating Committee. \u0026ldquo;I encourage my colleagues to be a part of the discussion and run for election to the Faculty Senate. We need a diverse group of active voices involved in this democratic process.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAll nominees will be contacted to confirm their intent to run for election prior to review of the nomination by the Nominating Committee and posting of the election ballot. The committee will attempt to honor requests for specific committees, but some elections are constrained by requirements associated with particular seats (e.g. tenure versus non-tenure track) and the maintenance of a balance of campus representation on all committees.
