{"647148":{"#nid":"647148","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Fostering Industry Demand for Cybersecurity","body":[{"value":"\u003Cdiv\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhen Georgia Tech launched its Online Master of Science in Cybersecurity (OMS Cybersecurity) in 2019 with an inaugural cohort of 250 students, it had one common goal: increase the number of trained and educated cybersecurity professionals in the workforce to meet the growing industry demand.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ENow, in its third year, \u003Cstrong\u003Eenrollments have grown 285%\u003C\/strong\u003E, largely surpassing the residential program that has existed on campus since 2002. Even more, it represents a much more dynamic and diverse group of industry professionals. \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/public.tableau.com\/profile\/joshpreston#!\/vizhome\/OMSCybersecurityTurns2\/DashMAIN\u0022\u003EAs these interactive charts demonstrate\u003C\/a\u003E, the learners in the program have a global and unique vantage point, with\u0026nbsp;industry specializations in technology, finance, and defense technology and \u003Cstrong\u003Ecitizenship across 59 countries\u003C\/strong\u003E. Additionally, \u003Cstrong\u003EAsian, Black, and Hispanic student groups are nearly half of the total racial and ethnic program makeup\u003C\/strong\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhile the field of cybersecurity is much narrower than Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s other two online graduate degrees-at-scale, it\u0026#39;s not a marginal, specialized program.
