  <body><![CDATA[<p>Associate professor <a href="https://hsoc.gatech.edu/people/person/amit-prasad">Amit Prasad</a>&nbsp;appeared on&nbsp;the 90.1 FM WABE radio show &quot;Did you wash your hands?&quot; on Thursday, May 13th.&nbsp;The 23-minute episode, hosted by Sam Whitehead,&nbsp;explored the &ldquo;cultural and historical reasons why people believe misinformation about the pandemic.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to Prasad, people believe Covid conspiracy theories&nbsp;for more than just &quot;anti-science&quot; reasons&nbsp;and understanding that&nbsp;can help address the spread of misinformation more effectively.</p>
