We get two chances each year to show our support and celebrate Pride at Georgia Tech. Here in Atlanta, Pride events take place in October, and this year Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/lgbtqia.gatech.edu\u0022\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003ELGBTQIA Resource Center\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E will host events to mark Pride after students and staff return to campus in the fall.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ERegardless of whether you observe Pride in June or October, there are resources available on campus to support LGBTQIA+ students and staff as well as opportunities to become a better ally. Here is a closer look at some of those options.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EQT Chats \u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nFlag Building, Suite 140\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cem\u003EJune 16 and 30, 10 \u0026ndash; 11 a.m. \u003C\/em\u003E(and continuing biweekly)\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn-person biweekly discussions that happen at the Georgia Tech LGBTQIA Resource Center.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/lgbtqia.gatech.edu\/q-chats-lgbtqia-discussion-groups\u0022\u003EQT Chats\u003C\/a\u003E will center discussion around gender and sexuality and are open to all students.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPride Alliance \/ Grad Pride \/ T+ \/ Ace Space \u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nThe LGBTQIA Resource Center advises \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/lgbtqia.gatech.edu\/content\/student-groups\u0022\u003Ea variety of student organizations or student spaces\u003C\/a\u003E. The links on \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/lgbtqia.gatech.edu\/content\/student-groups\u0022\u003Ethis page\u003C\/a\u003E will provide more information about these community-specific groups and how to get involved.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ELavender Graduation\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nEach April, the Resource Center celebrates LGBTQIA+ undergraduate and graduate students who are completing their degrees. The \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/lgbtqia.gatech.edu\/lavender-graduation\u0022\u003ELavender Graduation ceremony\u003C\/a\u003E is open to any student who wishes to participate and faculty, staff, and classmates are invited to attend in support.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ECampus Health and Well-being Resources\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nThe Georgia Tech Counseling Center provides individual and group counseling for LGBTQIA+ students. Stamps Health Services is also available to assist students with their medical needs.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EStudents seeking assistance from the Counseling Center or Stamps Health Services should visit \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/care.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003ECARE \u003C\/a\u003Efirst for a primary assessment and referral to on- and off-campus mental health and well-being resources.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EStudent Emergency Fund\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ELGBTQIA organizations at Georgia Tech have teamed up to launch a relief fund to assist queer and trans students with emergencies that arise in their time at Tech. Donations to the fund are now being accepted and can be contributed on the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/mygeorgiatech.gatech.edu\/giving\/lgbtqia-emergencyfund\u0022\u003ELGBTQIA Student Relief Fund website.\u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ESafe Space Training\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cem\u003EJune 22, 12:30 \u0026ndash; 4:30 p.m.\u003C\/em\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nThese \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/lgbtqia.gatech.edu\/safe-space\u0022\u003Evirtual training sessions\u003C\/a\u003E are open to all employees, graduate students, postdocs, and Georgia Tech affiliates who have an interest in learning more about how to practice allyship to the LGBTQIA community.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EFaculty and Staff Involvement\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nThe \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/lgbtqia.gatech.edu\/pride-employee-resource-group\u0022\u003EPride Employee Resource Group (ERG)\u003C\/a\u003E is one of six employee resource groups at Georgia Tech. The Pride ERG hosts professional development and community-building events throughout the year. Any faculty or staff member is welcome to join the Pride ERG.
