{"64811":{"#nid":"64811","#data":{"type":"event","title":"Jackets Relay For Life","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EHundreds of Tech students will team up at the Campus\nRecreation Center Fields to raise money for the American Cancer Society (ACS) at\nthis year\u2019s Relay For Life on April 15.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThe overnight event will include free food and t-shirts,\nhourly track walks and other hourly events to keep students energized\nthroughout the night. Participants need only make a $10 donation to attend, but\nteams are challenged to raise more to keep a competitive edge going among\ncampus participants.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\n\n\u003Cp\u003EAs of April 11, one month from the event, more than 850 students on nearly 70 teams have\ndonated $33,000 for Tech\u2019s event; the Tech fundraising goal is $60,000.\nPrizes will be distributed to teams throughout the night of the event and will include\ntelevisions and other big-ticket electronic items.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThe annual event takes place at a local level in communities\naround the globe to raise money for the ACS, celebrate the lives of cancer\nsurvivors, remember loved ones lost to the disease and metaphorically fight\nback against cancer\u2019s effects in the lives of its victims and their friends and\nfamilies.
