648121 external_news 1623764900 1623865247 Jean-Luc Bredas, adjunct professor in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, has won the 2021 Centenary Prize from the Royal Society of Chemistry "for seminal contributions to our fundamental understanding of the electronic properties of organic materials for electronics and photonics, and for excellence in communication." Bredas was at Georgia Tech from 2003-2014, and then returned in 2017 as a Regents’ Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He held the Vasser-Woolley and Georgia Research Alliance Chair in Molecular Design, and was a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar.
