He began his new role on Aug.\u0026nbsp;2.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe ASC is a key component of the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/adminx.gatech.edu\/\u0022 rel=\u0022noreferrer noopener\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003EAdministrative Excellence\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;initiative\u0026nbsp;at Georgia Tech\u0026nbsp;and will service the Institute across a variety of\u0026nbsp;administrative\u0026nbsp;transactions\u0026nbsp;ranging\u0026nbsp;from HR\u0026nbsp;to\u0026nbsp;IT support,\u0026nbsp;as well as\u0026nbsp;support for\u0026nbsp;finance, procurement,\u0026nbsp;aspects of research administration,\u0026nbsp;and more.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I am delighted to welcome Ira on board to lead\u0026nbsp;the\u0026nbsp;Administrative Services Center.\u0026nbsp;He brings a wealth of experience in customer-focused problem solving as well as a robust understanding of Tech\u0026rsquo;s culture, systems, and processes,\u0026rdquo;\u0026nbsp;said\u0026nbsp;Mike Shannon,\u0026nbsp;deputy chief business officer for Administration and Finance and portfolio owner for the\u0026nbsp;Administrative Excellence\u0026nbsp;initiative.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EBragg\u0026nbsp;brings a legacy of excellence serving the Institute. He graduated in 2001 from the College of Computing\u0026nbsp;and returned to Tech in 2005 as an application developer for the College of Sciences. His work included improving business processes through the development of creative technology to empower faculty and staff\u0026nbsp;to work more efficiently.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHis work eventually led to the establishment of\u0026nbsp;TAG,\u0026nbsp;through which many ideas were transformed into tools to create efficiencies in business processes. A few of these tools include GT-TRACS for faculty hiring and commitment tracking, PROMOTE for faculty promotion and tenure, and, most recently, the\u0026nbsp;MyTest\u0026nbsp;portal for Covid-19 surveillance testing and vaccination appointments.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn his newly created position, Bragg\u0026nbsp;is responsible for all aspects of designing, implementing, and overseeing the future\u0026nbsp;ASC.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to bring my passion for Georgia Tech to the Administrative Services Center,\u0026rdquo;\u0026nbsp;he\u0026nbsp;said.\u0026nbsp;\u0026ldquo;The\u0026nbsp;growth and\u0026nbsp;changes Tech has\u0026nbsp;experienced\u0026nbsp;over the past several years have created the need for a customer service-focused organization like the ASC.
