These objectives inform the pillars of Data Excellence \u0026ndash; management, protection, and value \u0026ndash; and will guide the work to be done in the following strategic areas: \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Col\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ECustomer engagement.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EGovernance and management.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ESecurity, privacy, and risk.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EData services.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EIdentity and access.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ESystem modernization.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ol\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EComprised of leaders and experts across the Institute, the Data Excellence steering committee has identified a series of projects and process changes, many required by University System of Georgia (USG) policy, to support each focus area. The team also strives to establish a culture around data security and privacy that applies ownership and responsibility to each member of the Georgia Tech community.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;In recent conversations around cyber and data security, many of my peers have heard me say that \u0026lsquo;Jackets protecting jackets goes beyond our response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
