EE Program Holds Steady, CmpE Moves Up a Notch in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

The electrical engineering and computer engineering programs at Georgia Tech both placed at the number 6 position of their respective disciplines in the 2012 U.S. News & World Report rankings of graduate programs, which were released on March 15.

With its move into 6th place, the computer engineering program tied its highest position ever in this survey, which was last achieved in the 2006 USNWR rankings. The electrical engineering program held steady at 6th place for the fourth year in a row. The College of Engineering ranked number 4 for the seventh consecutive year, with most engineering programs also ranking in the top 10. A Georgia Tech news release detailing the rankings of all of the Institute's engineering disciplines may be found at http://www.gatech.edu/newsroom/release.html?nid=64951.

"Our continued success in ECE can be contributed to continually recruiting and retaining the finest faculty and students that are supported by an excellent group of research and administrative staff," said Gary S. May, professor and Steve W. Chaddick School Chair. "While these sorts of rankings mean different things to different people, I am very proud of our long record of sustained high placements among the very best of our peer institutions."
