{"650267":{"#nid":"650267","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Don\u2019t Forget to Register Your Youth Programs","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EIt\u0026rsquo;s back-to-school season for the Georgia Tech community and the greater Atlanta area, and minors are excited to participate in the many youth programs and extracurricular activities that Georgia Tech has to offer.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ELast year, many programs successfully pivoted to a virtual setting due to the pandemic and turned out to be a great success. This year, some programs plan to return to an in-person setting, while others plan to continue the success that was found in a virtual setting.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nRegardless of whether the program is in-person or virtual, the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/policylibrary.gatech.edu\/youth-programs-policy\u0022\u003EYouth Programs Policy\u003C\/a\u003E still applies. If you have questions, \u003Ca href=\u0022mailto:sally.robertson@carnegie.gatech.edu\u0022\u003Econtact Sally Robertson\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EAll Youth Programs Require:\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ERegistration Form\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThe registration form must be submitted no less than 30 days prior to the start of the program.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThe registration form can be found on the youth programs website.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EBackground Checks\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EBackground checks are run through HR.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThey are required for all those in direct contact with minors.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EEven in an online setting, a videoconference or an email are still considered direct contact.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ETraining\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ETraining is administered through Canvas for employees and through the Training Request form for students and non-employees.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ETraining is required for all those in direct contact with minors.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EStaff and Volunteer Code of Conduct\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EAll staff and volunteers, whether in direct contact or not, are required to sign the Staff and Volunteer Code of Conduct.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThere is a separate code of conduct specifically for virtual programs.\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMandatory Reporter\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThe mandatory reporter requirements apply for virtual and in-person programs.
