She received the 2021 Outstanding Women of Color Faculty Impact Award at the Women of Color City-Wide Awards Celebration on Sept. 26.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EPresented by the Women of Color Initiative (WOCI) Atlanta Collaborative in Higher Education, Husbands Fealing earned one of four awards recognizing students, faculty, staff, and community leaders who have contributed to policy reform, advocacy, or academia to create an inclusive environment committed to addressing the disparities and challenges faced by women.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;To be recognized by my colleagues as an Outstanding Woman of Color in higher education is a terrific honor,\u0026rdquo; said Husbands Fealing. \u0026ldquo;I am guided by a personal commitment to empower students, faculty, and staff in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts to strive to achieve their personal goals and lead with purpose to impact the lives of those they encounter each day.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHusbands Fealing\u0026rsquo;s research in diversity, equity, and inclusion has centered on the underrepresentation of women and minorities in STEM fields and the workforce. She has served on the American Economic Association\u0026rsquo;s Committee on the Status of Women in the Economic Profession and was awarded the 2017 Trailblazer Award from the National Medical Association Council on Concerns of Women Physicians. She most recently co-authored an article for the \u003Cem\u003EAmerican Journal of Sociology\u003C\/em\u003E examining the underlying process at federal science agencies that create gender pay gaps.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHusbands Fealing is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, an Elected Fellow of both the National Academy of Public Administration and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
